Residents do not need to create accounts on their own. The society admin adds them, gives each person a one-time code, and the resident sets their own login the first time they open Nest. This keeps strangers out of your society.
Steps
Add the resident. As the society admin, add the resident with their name, mobile number and flat.
Share the one-time code. Nest gives you a one-time code for that resident. Share it with them personally, by phone or WhatsApp.
The resident opens Nest. The resident opens Nest in their phone browser, enters their mobile number and the one-time code.
They set their own login. The resident chooses their own PIN. From then on they log in with it, and nobody else knows it.
Approve devices if you use this option. If your society has switched on device approval, the admin approves a new phone before it can be used. This adds one more layer of safety.
Tips
Share a code only with the person it is meant for. Once used, it cannot be reused by someone else.
Add family members who need their own login as separate residents of the same flat.
Questions
Can residents sign up on their own?
No. Only people added by the society admin can join. This stops outsiders from getting into your society's data.
What if a resident forgets their PIN?
Ask the society admin to help the resident get a fresh one-time code so they can set a new PIN.
Can guards and staff be added the same way?
Yes. Guards and staff are added by the society admin and join with a one-time code, then see only the screens meant for their work.
